French solar thermal market expected to double this year
ESTIF published the following press release on their website on the 20 ovtober 2005
ESTIF, the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation, represents
manufacturers, national associations and service providers active in the solar
thermal sector. ESTIF’s mission is to achieve high priority and acceptance for
Solar Thermal as a key element for sustainable heating and cooling in Europe
and with immediate effect to work for the implementation of all steps necessary
to realise the high potential of Solar Thermal.
French solar thermal market expected to double this year.
Based on an enquiry of their members, the French solar association ENERPLAN
expects a newly installed capacity of 70.000 kWth this year (collector area of
100.000m2). This would correspond to a doubling of the market in just one
year.
The enquiry showed installation figures for the first three quarters
of:
- 10.000 small DHW systems with an installed capacity of 31.500 kWth
- 1.300 combisystems with a capacity of 11.200 kWth and
- 10.000 m² large scale DHW systems
According to current trends ENERPLAN projects the whole 2005 market to
finish at
- 14.000 small DHW systems with a capacity of 45.500 kWth
- 1.800 combisystems with a capacity of 16.800 kWth and
- 15.000 m² large scale DHW systems
All figures relate to metropolitan France (without the French overseas
departments).
